There was a report at about noon on Wednesday, March 30 that a child had drunk milk contaminated with hand sanitizer at St|Riletta T. Cream Early Childhood Center at 1875 Mulford St.
There was an earlier unconfirmed report that busloads of hazmat victims had been transported to Cooper University Hospital.
School officials later confirmed that at least 64 students were impacted by the incident, which purportedly involved a “non-toxic consumable sanitizer” in milk cartons at at least two schools.
Students from Early Childhood Development Center were sent to Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and students from Riletta T. Cream Elementary School were sent to Cooper Hospital, officials said.
This is a developing news story.
